Frequently Asked Questions
There are two methods to connect your ePhone to the Internet:-
- Direct- Plug the ePhone directly into your ADSL / Broadband Router using the network cable provided;
- Shared - The ePhone has 2 network sockets which allows you to share the same network connection cable from you router with your PC , but still allows the e-Phone to make and receive calls even when the PC is switched off.
Plug & Go means you can easily connect the ePhone to the internet via a standard ADSL/Broadband router and it will operate automatically within a few seconds after boot-up without you programming or changing anything!
Each ePhone is automatically pre-configured with a UK telephone number with your chosen area code or non-geographic code, to ensure that it is fully operational as soon as you receive it.
When an ePhone is initially connected to your network it will attempt to get all of its device settings from your network - if your router is setup for "DHCP" or "Dynamic IP Addressing" this will take place automatically.
If you use "Static IP" Addresses in your network you will need to contact your Network Administrator and ask for a new IP address, Subnet Mask,Gateway IP Address and DNS Server information. This information will need to be programmed into your telephone before it will work. You can do this by accessing the Phone Menu and selecting Option "1" for Network Settings.
