Frequently Asked Questions

How do I connect my ePhone to the Internet?

There are two methods to connect your ePhone to the Internet:-

  1. Direct- Plug the ePhone directly into your ADSL / Cable Router using the network cable provided
  2. Shared - The ePhone has 2 network sockets which allows you to share the same network connection that your PC uses .. and also allows the e-Phone to operate even when the PC is switched off.

What is Plug & Go Installation?

Plug & Go means you can easily connect the ePhone to the Internet and it will operate automatically within a few seconds without you programming or changing anything!

This makes the e-Phone completely unique as most other Internet Telephony services require you to either install and configure your PC, or configure your ADSL / Cable Router - assuming you even know how to!

Each ePhone is pre-configured in our laboratories to ensure that it's fully operational as soon as you receive it.

What Should I do if My Router is not setup for DHCP?

When an ePhone or IP/Phone Dual+ Adaptor are connected to your network they will attempt to get all of their settings from your network - if your router is setup for "DHCP" or "Dynamic IP Addressing" this will take place automatically.

If you use "Static IP" Addresses in your network you will need to contact your Network Administrator and ask for a new IP address, Subnet Mask,Gateway IP Address and DNS Server information. This information will need to be programmed to your telephone before it will work. You can do this by accessing the Phone Menu and selecting Option1 for Network Settings.
